Soccer Rules Overview

3-WAY LINES

In soccer, the standard betting option is a 3-way line, where you can bet on HomeAway or Draw.

With a 3-way line, there cannot be any pushes, so if you bet on either team to win, the wager will lose if the game ends in a tie. The Draw option will be the winning bet whenever there is a tie.

► 3-way moneyline bets for the full game count only the 90 minutes of regulation plus injury time.

► 3-way moneyline bets for the 1st or 2nd half count only the first 45 minutes of regulation plus injury time.

OFFICIAL MATCH TIMES

  • FULL GAME: For bets to be official, the match must complete full-time (90 minutes). The terms 'full-time', '90 minutes' and 'normal time' all refer to the 90 minutes of regulation plus injury time, but not including any extra times (overtime) or penalty shootouts.
  • FIRST & SECOND HALF: Bets on any half that finishes before the completion of 45 minutes play, unless otherwise stated, will be void.
  • EXTRA TIME PERIODS: extra time includes both 15 minute halves plus injury time. Bets on any Extra Period that starts but is not fully completed, unless otherwise stated, will be void.
  • TEAM TO ADVANCE: This market will be available for games played during the knockout stages in a tournament. This option is not limited to 90 minutes + injury time, and includes extra periods or penalty shootouts (if necessary). If a team is disqualified during or before the completion of the knockout stage round, bets will be refunded.

POSTPONED / SUSPENDED GAMES

All matches during any cup or elimination tournament, including the World Cup, are played until the match ends, regardless of whether or not it concludes on a specific day within the tournament parameters. The match must resume where it was stopped. If the league or governing body takes the decision to restart the game from the beginning, bets will have no action.

In the case of soccer matches outside of a tournament or cup (i.e., regular season, exhibition, friendly) which are postponed before they start, bets have action only if the match resumes within 48 hours of the original start time.

ASIAN HANDICAP BETTING

Asian Handicap is a way of betting on soccer where the draw option is removed. So instead of a standard 3-way line (Team A / Team B / Draw) you are only given the option to bet on Team A or Team B.

Asian handicap offers "split lines", including two different point spreads or totals, with a half-point difference. Below is an example:

Favorite -1.5, -2 (-110)

You bet $110 to win $100, and the wager is divided as follows:

LINE -1.5 -2
BET Risk $55 / Win $50 Risk $55 / Win $50

If the favored team wins 2 to 0, the result of your bet will be:

  • WIN on the -1.5 spread - you receive your risk amount plus the winnings ($55+$50)
  • PUSH (TIE) on the -2 spread - you receive your risk amount, but not the win amount ($55)
  • Total payout is $160

However, if the favorite wins 3-0, you would win both halves of the wager, with your total payout being $210.
